Corning Gorilla Glass is the trademark of Corning, Inc. which makes toughened glass. Gorilla Glass is used on electronics devices with display to protect the display from scratches and accidental falls. It helps smartphone manufacturers to add an additional layer of scratch resistant layer to protect the touchscreen of the smartphones.

Corning has a research team which works on improving the strength of the glass. Currently Corning Gorilla Glass 4 (4th generation) is in use and smartphones have started adopting this glass.
