The Motorola Signature focuses on being slim and light without cutting down on flagship hardware. The phone starts at Rs 59,999 for 12GB + 256GB. Higher variants with 16GB RAM go up to 1TB storage. On paper, it checks almost every flagship box. But how does it feel in real use?
Design
The first thing you notice is the thickness. At just 6.99mm and 186 grams, this is one of the slimmest and lightest phones in this segment. Most rivals cross 200 grams. Here, Motorola clearly wanted to make a statement. The frame is built from aircraft grade aluminium. The front has a quad curved display, which blends smoothly into the frame. It feels premium in hand, though users coming from flat edge phones may need some time to adjust.
There are two Pantone inspired colours. Martini Olive has a subtle woven texture, while Carbon gets a linen style finish. Both look classy and different from the usual glossy backs. The camera module is metallic and neatly integrated, though it still carries the familiar Motorola design language.
Despite the slim body, durability is strong. You get Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front, IP68 and IP69 water resistance, and MIL STD 810H certification. So it is not just about looks.
Display and audio
The Motorola Signature features a 6.8 inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with up to 165Hz refresh rate. It supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+, and peak brightness goes up to 6,200 nits. In daily use, the screen looks fantastic. Colours are rich, blacks are deep, and brightness is more than enough outdoors. Watching HDR content on streaming apps feels immersive. The 165Hz refresh rate mainly works during gaming. In regular use, it switches between 1Hz and 120Hz thanks to LTPO technology. This helps in saving battery while keeping scrolling smooth.
Audio performance is also impressive. The stereo speakers tuned with Bose branding deliver loud and clear sound. Bass could have been stronger, but overall output easily fills a small room.
Software
The phone runs Hello UI based on Android 16. The interface feels clean and close to stock Android, with minimal clutter. Motorola is promising seven years of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates. That is rare in this segment and gives long term confidence. There are useful features like Moto Secure with ThinkShield, digital wellbeing tools, and a set of AI functions under Moto AI 2.0. Features such as notification summaries and real time transcription work well in daily use.
An interesting addition is the Signature Club app. It acts as a digital concierge offering travel assistance, event access, and other lifestyle services. These are paid services, but the concept adds a premium touch.
Performance
The Motorola Signature runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. It is paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. In everyday use, performance is excellent. Apps open instantly, multitasking is smooth, and there are no slowdowns. Gaming performance is equally strong. Titles like BGMI and Call of Duty Mobile run at high frame rates without noticeable stutter. However, during long gaming sessions or heavy benchmark runs, the phone does get warm. It is not alarming, but thermal management could have been better.
Cameras
The Motorola Signature packs three 50 megapixel cameras on the back, including a periscope telephoto lens. There is also a 50 megapixel front camera. The main camera delivers detailed photos with good dynamic range. Colours are slightly on the vibrant side, especially reds and yellows, but images look appealing. In low light, the primary camera performs well. It balances highlights and shadows properly and keeps noise under control without over smoothing. The periscope telephoto lens is another strong point. It captures sharp images in daylight and handles low light reasonably well. High zoom levels rely on AI, so extreme zoom shots lose detail, but standard zoom results are solid.
The ultra wide camera is decent. It maintains consistent colours with the main sensor, though fine details drop slightly, especially at night. Selfies are good with natural skin tones. Edge detection in portrait mode can struggle in complex scenes, but overall output is usable.
Video recording is versatile. You can shoot 8K at 30fps and 4K at 60fps from all sensors. Stabilisation is effective and colours look vibrant, though sometimes slightly boosted.
Battery
The phone houses a 5,200mAh silicon carbon battery. While that may sound average compared to 7,000mAh phones, it performs well in real life. With normal usage that includes calls, browsing, streaming, and photography, the phone lasts almost a full day. Heavy users may need a top up by evening. Charging is quick with the included 90W charger. A full charge takes under an hour. Wireless charging is also supported, adding convenience.
Verdict
The Motorola Signature proves that a flagship does not have to be bulky. It combines a slim and lightweight design with top tier performance, an excellent display, and capable cameras. There are minor drawbacks. The phone can heat up during intense tasks, and battery life is good but not class leading. Still, as a complete premium package, it stands strong.
If you want a sleek flagship that feels different from the usual heavy glass slabs, the Motorola Signature deserves serious consideration.
