The Realme P4 Power packs a massive 10,001mAh battery. On paper, it sounds like a power bank with a display attached. The big question is simple. Do you really need this much battery?
For a phone with such a huge battery, the P4 Power looks surprisingly slim. It measures 9.08mm thick and weighs 219 grams. The curved display and rounded edges make it comfortable to hold. The rear panel is matte plastic. It does not attract many fingerprints, but it scratches easily. The frame and back are smooth, so the phone can feel slippery. Using a case is a good idea. The top part of the back has a design that looks like a circuit board with “Dart” branding. It is just for style. There is no wireless charging here. You do get IP69 dust and water resistance, which is impressive at this price.
The phone features a 6.79 inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a claimed 144Hz refresh rate. Borders are slim and the screen looks immersive thanks to the curved sides. Brightness is excellent. It reaches high levels outdoors and HDR content looks vibrant. Watching movies on this screen is enjoyable. However, the 144Hz claim is mostly on paper. In real use, the display runs at 120Hz for most tasks. Games are capped lower by default. Only a couple of system apps can actually trigger 144Hz.
There is only one bottom-firing speaker. It is loud enough but lacks depth. It is easy to block with your hand while gaming or watching videos.
The Realme P4 Power runs Android 16 with Realme UI 7.0. The interface is smooth and offers many customisation options. You get new icons, fonts, themes and plenty of animations. There are AI features as well. AI image editing works fine for basic use, though it is not perfect. An AI translator is included, but language options are limited. You will find several preinstalled third party apps. Thankfully, most of them can be removed. Realme promises three years of Android updates and four years of security updates, which is decent for a mid range device.
The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra. It is paired with up to 12GB RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. For daily tasks like browsing, social media and streaming, performance is smooth. Apps open quickly and multitasking is fine. In games like Call of Duty Mobile, gameplay is stable at high settings around 60fps. Lowering graphics gives smoother results. The optional AI motion feature makes visuals look smoother, but it is not the same as true high frame rate gaming on flagship chips.
The phone does not heat up much while gaming. However, when recording video, especially at 1080p 60fps, the device warms up and the viewfinder can stutter. Benchmark numbers are clearly lower than some rivals in the same price range. So if raw power is your priority, there are better options.
The Realme P4 Power has a 50MP main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra wide. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera. The main camera does a good job in daylight. Photos have good dynamic range and decent detail. Colours are slightly warm and a bit saturated. Zooming in shows some aggressive sharpening. In low light, detail drops and images become softer. Noise is controlled, but textures can look flat. The ultra wide camera is basic. Even in daylight, images look soft and lack detail. It is more for occasional use rather than serious photography. Portrait shots from the main camera are decent with acceptable edge detection. Selfies are usable but not very sharp.
Video quality is fine at 4K 30fps in daylight. Stabilisation works well. In low light, videos lose detail due to strong noise reduction. There is no 4K 60fps option.
This is where the P4 Power stands out. With normal use, the phone easily lasts two full days. Heavy users can expect around one and a half days without stress. Even at 5 percent battery, the phone can keep running for more than an hour. In battery tests, it delivered excellent results. Charging such a huge battery takes time, but the bundled 80W charger does a good job. It reaches 71 percent in one hour and takes under two hours for a full charge.
You also get 27W reverse wired charging. It can charge other phones at decent speed. It is not as fast as a dedicated power bank, but it works when needed. Realme claims the battery will retain 80 percent health even after many years of use. That is reassuring for long term buyers.
Verdict
The Realme P4 Power is built around the idea of extreme battery life and tries to replace your power bank. But battery is not everything. Performance is good but not the best. Cameras are average. The display refresh rate marketing feels exaggerated.
If long battery life is your top priority, the Realme P4 Power is easy to recommend. If you want better performance or stronger cameras at the same price, there are more balanced options in the market.
