What is TFT (Thin Film Transistor)?

TFT (Thin Film Transistor) definition

TFT is the short form of thin film transistor. It is a liquid Crystal Display technology in which pixel is controlled by transistor. It has a transistor for each pixel that triggers pixel illumination. TFT is more responsive and hence offers better experience. For example, when you move mouse cursor across the display, TFT is fast enough to reflect the movement.

TFT screens are also sometimes called active-matrix LCDs.
