Tailgating Attack definition
Tailgating, also known as "piggybacking," is a type of security threat where an unauthorized person gains access to a secure area by following an authorized person who has already entered. The unauthorized person, also known as the attacker, uses the authorized person's access as a way to bypass security measures such as security gates, turnstiles, or identification checks.
Tailgating attacks can occur in various settings, such as office buildings, data centers, or other secure facilities. The attacker may appear to be a delivery person, repairman, or a friend or colleague of the authorized person, and they may use this opportunity to steal sensitive information, install malicious software, or damage equipment.
