Thunderbolt definition
Thunderbolt is a high-speed interface for connecting peripheral devices to a computer. It was developed by Intel and Apple and uses a single cable with a small connector to transmit data, audio and video signals between devices at speeds of up to 40 Gbps. This allows for fast transfer of large files, high-definition video and audio, and charging of devices, all over a single cable. Thunderbolt technology supports daisy chaining of up to six devices and can also support external graphics card (eGPU) setups for enhanced graphics performance.
