What is MagSafe?

MagSafe definition

MagSafe is Apple’s magnetic attachment system that helps iPhone users connect accessories more easily. There is a circular ring of magnets built into the back of recent iPhones. When you bring a MagSafe accessory close to the phone, it snaps into the correct position on its own. This simple idea makes accessories like chargers, wallets, stands, and battery packs much easier to use.

One of the biggest advantages of MagSafe is wireless charging. A normal wireless charger often loses efficiency because the phone is not perfectly aligned with the coil. With MagSafe, the magnets take care of the alignment automatically. This improves charging speed and reduces heat, so you get a more reliable charging experience. Apple’s MagSafe charger can deliver up to 15W on supported iPhones, which is faster than regular Qi charging on iPhones.

MagSafe has also created a new ecosystem of accessories. You will find MagSafe-compatible car mounts, desk stands, power banks, selfie grips, and even camera add-ons. Many case makers now offer “MagSafe-compatible” cases that include a magnet ring, so you can still use these accessories without removing the case.
